Winter Date Night Ideas (Click to see more)
With January in full swing it’s easy to feel like there isn’t anything “fun” to look forward to until the spring. Although the weather is cold, planning a date night definitely helps to warm up the mood. See list below for how to make your winter a little less dreary with a night out on the city:
Drinks + Underground Bowling
If you haven’t been to Harp & Crown yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? This place is one of my favorite spots in the city simply because of it’s chic speak-easy atmosphere. The upstairs of Harp & Crown is a traditional bar/dining area but the secret staircase is where the fun awaits. Follow the long winding hallway to enter Harp & Crown’s underground lounge and bowling alley. The dimmed lighting coupled with Harp & Crown’s signature bold drinks make for the perfect date night ambiance.
Restaurant Week (January 13-25, 2019)
Restaurant Week is definitely something to take advantage of, especially if you are balling on a budget. This is the magical week of the season where high-end restaurants throughout Center City offer select $35 3-course meal dinner specials and $20 lunches. Whether you are dining during the day or night, just make sure to reserve a table ASAP to guarantee a table at any of the top popular places.
Dinner Date Suggestions: Mercato, Sam Pan, Scarpetta, Delfriscos, Butcher & Singer, Devon Seafood Grill
Lunch Date Suggestions: Chops Restaurant, Max Brenner, Porta, El Vez, Zama
Sixers Game + Cheese Steak Date
Basketball games are great in the winter, as an indoor arena ensures controlled warm temperatures and cold beer. The 76ers are in their prime right now, so pretty much any home game is guaranteed to be a good time. For any non-locals looking to get the full Philly experience, head to one of the famous cheese steak spots for a quick bite before the game (highly recommend Jim’s).
