In a world full of chaos, it can be challenging to always stay composed externally but more importantly internally. Stress is a part of life, and something that is unfortunately inevitable. Everyone is fighting their own battles and it can be overwhelming to manage at times. What is manageable though is how you let stress affect you. Since there isn’t always an easy solution to making stress go away, some resort to unhealthy cover-up methods like binge drinking or overeating to block out what is truly weighing over them. I have personally fallen victim to these types of coping mechanisms and although it temporarily relieved the stress I was feeling, it was in no way a long-term resolution.
The only person who can control how you feel is you, and YOU must want it for yourself. It took me 26 years to figure that out, but now that I have I feel like I can conquer anything. I’m not saying that stress is something that you can one day decide to not have anymore. What I mean is that there are healthy alternatives to managing it. This brings me to the point of my entire post in that meditation is one of the most effective approaches for a clear state of mind.
